Carlyle Stem

Carlyle Stem is an Emmy Award winning filmmaker and watercolor artist. After a career leading nonprofit organizations, Carlyle is now devoting more time to her watercolor paintings. A lifelong birder and naturalist, she takes inspiration from beloved Rocky Mountain flora and fauna. Her use of wet-on-wet techniques allow her to mix colors directly on the painting. Her dry layering technique then adds fine depth with tiny brush strokes creating the exquisite detail characteristic of her work.
