Jane Lee

Oils

Glenwood Springs artist, Jane Lee, desires to capture the natural beauty of her surroundings in order to stir the memories and emotions of her viewers. Her background and training are extensive and varied. Jane has studied art at the University of Colorado, Fort Lewis College and Colorado Mountain College. And, she has gone on to study different aspects of her art with artists whose work she admires, as in her study of portraits with Dan Sprick and plein air and landscape with Matt Smith and Dan Young.

Although Jane loves painting her beloved Colorado, since she has traveled extensively, she also enjoys painting plein air on site in exotic places like Italy and Mexico. She has exhibited in the Oil Painters of America Exhibition in Carmel, California, and in Taos, New Mexico, at the Tucson Plein Air Competition. Jane was awarded a national show award at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, one of the oldest art clubs in the country and has participated in numerous other exhibitions over the years, winning countless ribbons and trophies for her work.
