Drawing, Painting, Pet Portraiture
Born and raised in Colorado, truly a Native, I graduated from Colorado State University with a BFA degree, having my concentration in Graphic Design. Here, I learned that I love print making, drawing, logo design, clay and sculpture. I truly regret I hadn’t ventured into any college photography classes when I had the chance. Having had two sons we lived in various states in the east and southeast including the Washington, DC/Virginia area where I began my pet portraiture business some 35 years ago. My clients would provide me with numerous photos they had taken of their pet that gives me a glimpse into their character, so I in turn, create a realistic portrait keepsake in color pencil, pastel, ink or watercolor. While living in Denver, I was selected as a photography artist for the Denver Botanic Garden’s – Mid-Century Modern Interpreted The Gardens’ Landmarks in Context show in 2009-2010. I absolutely love using the lens to capture the simplistic and true oddities in nature, out on the street scenes, and various adventures that I take with my faithful companion, Braxster.
